[Ref. 711] JEAN SIDER:
French ufologist and author Jean Sider quotes an article from the newspaper Yonne Républicaine, of Auxerre, for October 20, 1954, on page 4:
"A correspondent alerts us about several people that saw a strange object in the meadows, in various places, several days in continuation, on the side of Ligny-le-Châtel and Varennes. We will try to check this information and to communicate the results as soon as possible."
Jean Sider notes that the article was followed of a call to witnesses "in the event of extraordinary appearances" on the initiative of Charles Garreau, journalist, and ufologist. Jean Sider however did not find any follow-up on this matter in the next newspapers.
