The two authors quote an article of the newspaper "L'Echo du Ribéraccois", for October 8, 1954, adding the mention "Ste-Aulaye, 0. 30.":
"Mr. and Mrs. Vergnaud, directors of the municipal Hall who, coming back from Montpan, returned on their premises in Sainte-Aulaye, saw in the sky a luminous machine which advanced very quickly while leaving trails seeming to be sparks or fire. "
They give as explanation that the case does not merit comment.
